The Guild is a volunteer organization, founded in
1985. The Guild’s purpose is to organize and promote events to
raise funds and increase public awareness of the Honolulu Academy
of Arts.
Membership is open to anyone who is a member
of the Academy and is interested in advancing the purpose of the
Guild and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Members work throughout the year on annual events
such as Showcase and Kama’aina Christmas and on special tours and
programs.
The time members give depends on each person’s
interests and availability. Some work on a project from concept to
wrap-up. Others help for a few hours at a time on the day of or
just prior to an event.
Guild members bring a variety of talents and experience to the
Academy: event planning, management expertise, writing,
editorial, accounting and cashiering skills, computer
proficiency, sales and public relations, design and decoration.
